We are currently seeking a Principal Security Services Architect to join our successful team Sydney (or can be located anywhere in Australia). This role operates within the Services Architecture group which in turn is part of the larger NTT Products and Services group. The role will see you provide NTT’s Services business with a decision centre which can make conscious decisions about technology and infrastructure.

Through R&D, evaluations and similar exercises, the Services Architecture group is expected to innovate and examine the possibilities that are offered by new technologies which can be used to define new solutions, processes or meet NTT’s future challenges to the technical landscape.

The vehicle for the Services Architecture group is a standardised framework which helps define, refine and document the businesses decisions and engineering requirements, closer aligning engineering with business direction.

Working at NTT 

The role’s duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop new security related capabilities within the Services portfolio to help standardise and secure environments.
  • Iterate on existing design patterns to improve the security posture of the design
  • Developing project timelines for ongoing deployments of existing capabilities and new transformational projects
  • Work closely and collaboratively as one team with other Client Architects, Solution Architects and other domains within the NTT Services business.
  • Provide input to security incident escalations and post-event analyses
  • Cultivate a culture of security awareness amongst the Solutioning community to ensure all environments are secure by design.

What will make you a good fit for the role? 

  • Degree in IT or related field is highly desirable, as are CISSP and TOGAF certifications
  • Familiarity with common security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, Common Criteria and Mitre D3fend
  • Familiarity with common compliance and regulation frameworks such as ISO27001, ACSC’s ISM, SOC1, SOC2, PCI-DSS, APRA, FIRB and AESCSF
  • Extensive knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization and system security principles such as hardening         
  • Experience identifying and managing IT operational and security risks including the implementation of security mitigations
  • Experience designing and  implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management or related technologies
  • Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook
  • Exposure to MSP/ASP/ISP/Telco hosting and related environments preferable
  • You must be a critical thinker, have strong self-direction, and be able to communicate clearly.
  • Collaborate with other Solution and Client Architects in the field to define the scope and deliverables of innovative customer implementations and deliver them as part of a virtual team
  • Subject matter expert with hands-on work experience with any one of the major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI, GCP etc).
  • Experience in architecting and designing horizontally scalable, loosely coupled Cloud native solutions. Experience to microservices, designing stateless scalable systems is a plus
  • Must be Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must be able to attain Australian Government Negative 1 vetting
