About the role

The primary goal of the Practice Lead - DCBU is to lead, drive and build a consistent and sustainable Technology Transformation practice aligned to and in support of the overall business strategy, operating at a local QLD state region. This is a senior level role within the QLD branch with a seat on the branch Senior Leadership Team

The Technology Transformation practice focusses on the following key solution areas:

  • Data Centre Solutions – Compute, Storage and Backup Technologies including associated Technology Solutions, Professional Services and Managed Services
  • Network Solutions – Core DC Networking, Campus Networking, SDWAN/WAN and Cloud Networking services including associated Technology Solutions, Professional Services and Managed Services
  • Cloud Services – Hybrid and Multi Cloud solutions including associated Technology Solutions, Professional Services and Managed Services

As the Director for Technology Transformation, you will fulfill business development, practice development and vendor management functions that accelerate success within the QLD practice. You will ensure that the practice is grown in line with the global, regional and local solutions and services strategy.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be focussed on the following key areas within the practice:

  • Pipeline Management
    • Assisting presales team members and Account Managers with pipeline generating activities
    • Executive Sponsorship on key accounts
    • Pipeline reporting and forecasting to State Manager and national stakeholders
  • People Management
    • Day-to-day management of 10 Presales Solution Architects and Consultants
    • Personal Development planning with team members
  • Vendor Management
    • Regular cadence and enablement planning with key technology vendors like Cisco, Dell Technologies, HPE, NetApp, Pure Storage, Commvault, VMWare, HPE Aruba, Juniper, Google, Microsoft and AWS
    • Act as main conduit between the vendors and internal NTT resources
  • P&L Management
    • Accountable for ensuring the practice P&L within the state is tracking to budget
    • Billing reporting and forecasting to State Manager and national stakeholders

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation of the strategy for their practice that will enable continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Manage the transformation and growth for selling the practice Go-to-Market across the QLD geography.
  • Owns and optimizes the solution portfolio investment for the owned business solutions for their clients, aligning with the business strategies and priorities.
  • Identify and create demand for solutions that drive sales and ensure the financial viability for deployment, preparing, and reviewing cost estimates.
  • Manage a team of individual contributors and ensure performance goals are constantly reviewed and achieved.
  • Facilitate regular practitioner or delivery training activities on relevant topics and subject matter.
  • Support and maintain a community of practice where information and best practices can be shared.
  • Collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders to create, implement and manage a technology roadmap that articulates the positioning, capabilities, and features for enablement of delivery capability.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to document and manage the formal plan of record including business outcomes, release plan, investment plan, resource plan, assumptions, risks, and issues.
  • Conduct solution design reviews to ensure capacity to provide the solution and the profitability to the business, whilst ensuring client requirements are met.
  • Implement standards and tools for new solution architecture and deliver continuous delivery frameworks that will promote and establish a reliable and competitive practice.
  • Recommend continuous integration for tooling to support regions with automated build, test, and deployment with a focus on continuous improvement in quality delivery.
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products or solutions by conducting market research supported by client engagement sessions.

Academic qualifications and certifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant certifications

Experience required:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in a pre-sales/sales role
  • Experience managing and leading a team of technical and non-technical individuals
  • Previous experience in a technical role
  • Previous experience in proposal writing
